Once upon a time, before trail running, before Parkour, we hiked up various mountains in South Africa and ran down like crazy people… we called it Extreme Jogging. This blog is a tribute to the good old days, friends & family, my Creator and everybody that love running in nature!
Location: Diemersfontein, Wellington, South Africa
Joggers: Anna Geldenhuys, Riana Roux, Adriaan Roux & me
This weekend we had the privilege to stay in the garden cottages of Diemersfontein Wine Farm and I woke on Saturday morning with an eagerness to jog! We started right behind the cottages with an easy climb on a not-so-well-kept gravel road. Although my idea was to jog all the way to the foot of Limietberg, we soon realized that we were fenced in and restricted to the premises of Diemersfontein. We did not really plan a specific route, so we explored and had to turn around every now and then since the pram and Adriaan's "holding on"-skills were restricted to a semi-technical to non-technical jeep track. Nevertheless, the weather was perfect and the setting awesome!
Our route started with ample semi-technical uphill
