Onder Keiskie Trail Run

This short trail run turned out to be one of our most eventful runs of the holidays so far. Christiaan and I started from the Keiskie farm house and turned towards Onder Keiskie farm. Even though the road is well established, it is very sandy in certain spots and it felt like we were running on a riverbed or the beach. We soon reached the gate to Onder Keiskie and when we saw the sign on the gate we regretted not contacting the farmer beforehand. We jumped over the gate anyway and pushed up the pace a bit (just for in case the farmer was waiting for us on his porch with his double barrel shotgun). After running for a few 100 meters inside the gate Christiaan stumbled and illegally bought a piece of land in Onder Keiskie with a spectacular dive and roll. I took the fourth photo before helping him up... :) From there on it was smooth sailing with beautiful Hantam views. The Onder Keiskie road joins the Keiskie road at the Witvoet turn-off and from there we cranked up the pace again for the last 1.5km to the Keiskie farm house.

Interesting: Onder Keiskie was once part of Keiskie farm, but is currently (unfortunately) not owned by my father-in-law.
