On this run I was all alone, struggling with the very harsh 2.5km climb from the Keiskie farm house towards Kliprug farm. I even had a minute to look back and take the second photo, back towards the farm house, the dam and Keiskie Mountain. Just before you reach Kliprug's gate, you turn left into the east-most camp of Keiskie, where the smooth gravel route becomes an uneven jeep track. From here on it was an easy contour run except for the last 500m where you descent towards the second natural spring on Keiskie. I was not aware of how far the spring was and it turned out to be about 6km away from the farm house, making this a nice 12km run!
Interesting: the name Krieboombad comes from the trees that grow at the spring: Karee-bome (Karee-trees). Back in the days the farmers shortened the name "Karee" to "Krie."
