Once upon a time, before trail running, before Parkour, we hiked up various mountains in South Africa and ran down like crazy people… we called it Extreme Jogging. This blog is a tribute to the good old days, friends & family, my Creator and everybody that love running in nature!
Extremeness: Technical single track, funny weather and two tough climbs
Location: Jonkershoek, Stellenbosch, South Africa
Joggers: Deryck Nel & me
Today we did a fairly tough extreme jog in Jonkershoek. The fact that I suffered from kilometre one did not help! We started on the East side of Jonkershoek, up three sections of the Canary, cutting across on the contour jeep track and then descended via the Never Ending MTB trail. We then took the cross-over jeep track in the middle of Jonkershoek, heading to the West side! From here it was up Swartboskloof, towards Sosyskloof, pass the fire hut, and then finally down the MTB trail to the West of the Jonkershoek gate.
