Paarl Mountain Trail Run

Our trail grading: ORANGE 3B
Distance: 14.5km
Extremeness: Heat, uphill and rocks...
Location: Paarl Mountain Nature Reserve, Paarl, South Africa
Joggers: Nadia van Heerden, Pieter van Heerden and me

Today I went out for an extreme jog with Superpiet and his better half. We started in Paarl and the first 700m was a hectic climb (with stairs). We then headed to the Paarl rocks – first to the one closes to Paarl and then to the highest one. What an awesome rock! We then headed down and climbed towards the cell phone tower to find a very nice single track descending to the jeep track below. On our way down we stopped for a drink at a small waterfall and then worked on our fitness as we ran down the steep stairs towards town.

Tough uphill to start with

Big rock!
At the top with Simonsberg Mountain behind us
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it is Superpiet!
