On Saturday morning Johan showed me the trail up Simonsberg. It is one of the few mountains close to Stellenbosch that I have not been on. We started at the Tokara gate, worked our way up past the vineyards and then got onto the single track. The trail is nicely established and you climb quickly, but completely unexposed. What an awesome mountain... the top is fairly narrow so it really feels like you are on top of the world. I'll definitely be back.
