Once upon a time, before trail running, before Parkour, we hiked up various mountains in South Africa and ran down like crazy people… we called it Extreme Jogging. This blog is a tribute to the good old days, friends & family, my Creator and everybody that love running in nature!
Extremeness: Technical single track and tough climb
Location: Stellenbosch Mountain, Stellenbosch, South Africa
Joggers: Only me
This Saturday morning I continued the Stellenbosch Mountain challenge. This time I started with a 3km climb without stopping. It was a beautiful winters day and I ran all the way to the first beacon on Stellenbosch Mountain. Here I met two students from Pretoria and pointed the view out to them: Table Mountain, Helderberg Mountain, Simonsberg, Pieke, Botmaskop and Cape Point. I then descended all the way to my house in a record time of 26.52min.
